President Droupadi Murmu is expected to visit Odisha, marking her first official visit to the State Assembly since assuming office, according to Law and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. While a formal schedule from Rashtrapati Bhavan is awaited, state authorities have already begun preparations for the anticipated visit.
President May Address Winter Session of Odisha Assembly
The Odisha Government proposed that President Murmu address the upcoming winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, and a tentative confirmation has been received. Minister Harichandan stated, “Details of the programme are being finalised, and additional information will be shared in due course.”
Significance of the Visit
Before becoming President, Droupadi Murmu served as Minister of Commerce and Transport and represented Rairangpur as an MLA. Her visit to the Assembly will be symbolically significant, reconnecting her with her early political career in Odisha.
