Orissa High Court Takes Action on Illegal Activities Near Barabati Fort and Satyabrata Stadium

The Orissa High Court has stepped in to address growing concerns over illegal activities at Satyabrata Stadium in Cuttack, located near the ASI-protected Barabati Fort. This decision followed alarming reports of the stadium turning into a haven for anti-social elements, including liquor consumption during nighttime.

Acting on concerns raised by the High Court Bar Association (HCBA), which cited media reports, the court has called for a joint meeting of stakeholders to resolve the issue. The HC has directed Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena to implement regular patrols in the area and ensure public safety. Additionally, the CMC Commissioner has been ordered to improve lighting facilities at the stadium to deter illicit activities.
