Odisha Launches Advanced Caravan Tourism Service

Comfortable Travel Across the State

Odisha Tourism has introduced a new caravan tourism service. This service allows tourists to explore the state comfortably while enjoying hotel-like amenities on wheels. It is designed to give a modern, flexible, and premium travel experience.

Second Phase Inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister

The second phase of the Caravan Tourism Service was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida. The project is supported under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme. It started at the Dhauli tourist area, a key heritage site near Bhubaneswar.

Facilities for Tourists

Each caravan comes with modern facilities, including:

  • Comfortable sleeping arrangements

  • Attached toilets

  • A kitchen

  • Other essential amenities

This allows tourists to travel safely and comfortably, similar to staying in a star-category hotel. It is ideal for families and adventure travelers.

Tourist Destinations Covered

The service is run by Sand Pebbles Tour and Travels in partnership with the Odisha government. It covers major tourist spots such as:

  • Hirakud

  • Debrigarh

  • Similipal

  • Chilika Lake

  • Bhitarkanika

  • Satkosia

  • Deomali

Therefore, tourists can experience Odisha’s wildlife, heritage, and natural beauty easily.

Boosting Local Tourism and Economy

This service is expected to:

  • Encourage visits to offbeat destinations

  • Reduce travel fatigue

  • Promote longer stays

  • Support local businesses in hospitality, transport, and allied services

Odisha Targets Domestic and International Tourists

With this modern caravan service, Odisha aims to become a tourist-friendly and innovative destination. It hopes to attract more visitors and offer a unique travel experience that combines comfort and adventure.
